Deposit models and estimation in the cement industry take into account several chemical variables (SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, MgO, F2O3, Na2O, K2O, etc) and modules based on relations between the main oxides (LS, Lime Saturation; SR, Silica Ratio; AR, Alumina Ratio).
Both resource estimation and mine planning have as aim optimizing resources by mixing different qualities. This optimization must maximize the mineral resources and minimize the movement of tailings, guarantying the lowest operative costs, in a sustainable way, and at the same time obtaining a longer useful life for every deposit.
These optimizations and the establishment of a mixed sequence during the useful life of the deposit are reflected in the mine design and mine plans in the medium and long term.
